HAL is a program that`s especially designed for fans of Stanley Kubrick`s masterpiece 2001: A Space Odyssey. It is a simple voice synthesizer that looks like the famous HAL 9000 computer from the movie.

So from HAL you can ask it to read all types of text, even though it is a little basic and simple as synthesizers go, especially when compared to other, similar and more advanced programs.

Having said that, HAL will still delight fans of the movie (and especially fans of the character HAL) and will entertain you while you try it.
